IEMA Youth Choir, for students grades 2-6, is a child's first choir experience building on the music concepts learned in Intro to Music with additional singing and key music concepts and our most popular children's choir.
Students will learn musicianship as taught through the Kodaly/Orff/Solflege approach to music theory, terminology, and instruction using rhythm names and hand signs in a fun and interactive choir setting. Students will also learn vocal technique as they prepare their concert choir songs. Students must participate in the Annual Vocal Assessment Day.
While prior musical training is not necessary to participate in the various Choirs of IEMA, an audition is required for singers in grades 2-12. Children will be placed in the appropriate choir group based on their skills, maturity, and readiness. Singers do not need to have a prepared audition piece.
Participants must be entering grades 2 to 6.
Registration starts on 03/31/2021.
Please contact Inland Empire Musical Arts if you have any questions.
