This extension of the choir program gives students, middles school and high school, in the alto/soprano vocal range the opportunity to continue their vocal studies and explore the next stage in their vocal development. Singers receive hours of instruction focusing on healthy vocal production and the development of music reading skills through unison, two-part, and even three-part literature. Vocal skills are strengthened through the use of ear training, solfege and sight-reading exercises.
Singers perform several times during the year, including major seasonal concerts and other community performances.
While prior musical training is not necessary to participate in the various Choirs of IEMA, an audition is required for singers in grades 2-12. Children will be placed in the appropriate choir group based on their skills, maturity, and readiness. Singers do not need to have a prepared audition piece.
Participants must be entering grades 6 to 12.
Registration starts on 04/01/2021 and ends on 01/31/2022.
Please contact Inland Empire Musical Arts if you have any questions.
